Comrade Jatin Mardi, a member of Uttar Dinajpur local committee member died on 12 November at the age of 65. He suffered a cardiac arrest while in a distant village. He was a popular adivasi leader and was very active in an adivasi organisation which was recently formed in West Bengal.In the left movement since 1980, he joined CPIML in 1991. Since 2009 he was Local Committee secretary in Itahar Block. Recently, he had helped organised a movement against a gang rape in his area. His sudden demise is a big loss for the party.
