THE Jharkhand Non-Gazetted Workers Association (Jharkhand Arajpatrit Karmachari Mahasangh—JAKM) salutes the memory of Comrade DP Bakshi. Bakshi Da was associated with the JAKM ever since the State of Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar on 15 November 2000. It was in his guidance that the JAKM was able to stand on its feet and develop well. The special thing about his personality was that he simplified even the most complicated of situations through talks and workshops. If someone was unhappy he himself went to that person and listened to his woes and resolved the problem in minutes. That is the reason the workers loved their beloved Bakshi Da.
He always kept a keen eye on workers’ demands and movements. He always encouraged the Mahasangh to take organisational initiatives. When the JAKM was being formed in 2000 some old leaders distanced themselves but Bakshi Da was clear that the workers’ organisation should be strengthened and sharpened so that it could be more effective in its fight against the government. He always urged for the need for JAKM to associate itself with the Party, and that is the reason that till today the JAKM walks on the path based on Party policy. Many organisational initiatives of the Mahasangh are a result of Bakshi Da’s guidance. He made us aware not only of the economic battle but also of the social and political battles we must fight.
Today Bakshi Da is no more with us but we remember him, his actions, his behaviour, his simplicity and sociability, his spirited attitude and his implementation of Party policies.
Red Salute to Comrade Bakshi Da!
