THE CPI(ML) expresses deep concern and sorrow at the devastation wrought by the severe floods in Kerala, which are causing large-scale loss of life, destruction of homes and property, displacement and utter disruption of essential services in the state.

The party extends every possible cooperation to the courageous rescue and relief efforts by multiple agencies as well as common people at this time of crisis.
We appeal to the Central Government to ensure an adequate relief package to Kerala, recognising the floods as a national disaster: over and above the Rs 100 crore already granted by the Centre from the regular disaster relief fund, the Centre must lose no time in releasing Rs 1,220 crore that the State Government has sought as a special package from the National Disaster Relief Fund.
 

We appeal to all people to contribute urgently and generously to the relief and rehabilitation efforts in the State.
