It is welcome that the Supreme Court has finally granted interim bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal till June 1, overruling strident opposition to the same by the ED.

The BJP has used every underhand tactic possible, including deploying the ED, CBI and IT department, to target Opposition parties and their electoral campaign. In Bihar, CPIML's Agiaon MLA, Manoj Manzil and 22 other comrades have been convicted on flimsy grounds in a politically motivated case ,where Manoj Manzil has been jailed and disqualified from his MLA-ship.

This order of the Supreme Court vindicates the belief that the arrest is politically motivated and timed to affect the election campaign of the INDIA alliance. As such we urge that Hemant Soren, ex-Chief Minister of Jharkhand, is also released immediately.

CPIML calls on the people to punish the Modi regime in the elections for its fascist assault on the Constitution and lives of the people.
