CPIML welcomes Release of Gautam Navlakha

delhi HC order

CPIML welcomes the Delhi HC order setting aside civil liberties activist Gautam Navlakha's transit remand and releasing him from house arrest. The Delhi HC order, like the dissenting Supreme Court verdict, holds that the arrest was illegal and in violation of the Constitution, and that the transit remand was approved by a magistrate without application of mind.

We hope that the other activists too will be released from house arrest soon. We demand that action be taken against the Pune Police for their illegal attempts to frame dissenting voices and to use sensational fake charges to create a media frenzy against them.

We note with outrage that the Maharashtra Government has decided to drop the cases of anti Dalit violence against Sambhaji Bhide and Milind Ekbote - the BJP govt is shielding the real culprits of the Bhima Koregaon violence.
